Dress Code

Dress Code

SSD&G has high standards for safety and professionalism, so we have the following requirements for our dress code. If you have any questions, please call the studio.

General Rules

  • Denim and skirts are not permitted
  • Hair must be secured and out of the face
  • No chewing gum

Tap

  • Tan tap shoes (all classes)
  • Leotard
  • Tights

Hip-Hop

  • Relaxed clothing
  • Legs must be covered (tights or leggings)
  • Black hip hop shoes

Jazz

  • White ballet slippers (younger students 3-8 years of age – if in doubt, call for info)
  • Black jazz shoes (older students 9-18, if in doubt, call for info)
  • Leotards
  • Tights

Gymnastics

  • Leotards (no tights)
  • Shorts or leggings with a tank or t-shirt
  • Denim and skirts are not permitted
  • Socks or bare feet are appropriate
  • No shoes
  • Hair must be secured and out of the face
  • No chewing gum

Ballet

  • White ballet slippers (younger students 3-8 years of age - if in doubt, call for info)
  • Pink ballet slippers (dance lines only)
  • Leotards
  • Tights
  • Shirts and sweatpants – not permitted
  • No denim
